Video: King Krule - Out Getting Ribs
The King Krule/Zoo Kid project has been quite slow burn - surprising when you consider the tender age, but looking back at ‘Out Getting Ribs’ from earlier this year it still packs the same punch. The EP is brilliant and really unique in the UK at the moment.

New Sounds: Weird Dreams and Pandr Eyez
Weird Dreams Weird Dreams might just be the UK’s answer to Girls. Full of longing, sweet songs that pack a punch, these guys stand out from London’s other lo-fi, slightly shoegaze groups at the moment. See them with Stephen Malkmus next month. Hypnagogic Lullaby by Weird Dreams Pandr Eyez If R&B’s filtration into other genres has been this year’s defining...

Elephant Big name for a duo who make sweet, soft sounds. Check out ‘Assembly’, which reminds us of The XX and The Cardigans in very good ways. Assembly by Elephant Au Palais ...

Gruff Rhys on Lauren Laverne (Listen Again)
Gruff Rhys had a star turn on Lauren Laverne’s show earlier today talking about the tour and his new EP/App Whale Trail as well as playing live. As ever Gruff was hilarious - probably one of our favourite bits of radio of the year. Listen Again Here (1:40 onwards)

Watch: Gruff Rhys - Sensations in the Dark (Live)
Love this live clip of Gruff playing ‘Sensations in the Dark’ on Channel 4’s CTRL programme earlier in the year. Outside of Jools it’s not often you see quality live music on television (apart from the annual Glastonbury splurge, and Rockfeedback’s excellent fest coverage this year) so this one is a bit of a treat. We are looking forward to seeing Gruff in all his...

New sounds: Patten + Cities Aviv
PATTEN Patten just released his debut EP on No Pain in Pop. That EP comes with the copy/paste friendly title: GLAQJO XAACSSO and is chock full of mutant electronic beats and glacial synths. Planningtorock is definitely keeping busy. A free EP last week and now a remix of Shit Robot. Factor that in with the London date tommorow night and this gal is keeping us pretty busy. It’s perfect Autumnal music with a bit of icy cool to it that is working just fine on this Monday morning. Stream it below: Shit Robot - Answering Machine (Planningtorock Pizzo Remix) by DFA Records

New bands: NZCA/LINES + DJ JD SPORTS
NZCA/LINES NZCA/LINES is London’s newest smoothie, laying down some great pop/R&B hooks over the top of a Charlie Alex March production. Check out ‘Compass Points’ above and await the next pop smash along with the rest of us. DJ JD SPORTS A new, and slightly bonkers side-project from King Krule (formerly Zoo Kid) he is clearly having some fun with this, lots of strange...

Video: Metronomy - Everything Goes My Way
One of our favourite of the new Metronomy songs gets an autumnal video complete with a herd of deer. This one looks like it was also filmed in Devon, but far away from the fake-Miami Torbay of the video for ‘The Bay’. Metronomy play a sold out show tonight for us at the Royal Albert Hall. We couldn’t be more excited.
